Most of us do several searches on the internet every day. We use Google, Bing, Baidu or another search engine.

Imagine getting paid to do that.

Well, you kind of can.

Earn points by searching the internet

Using Bing for a few searches a day can earn you Microsoft Rewards points. You can redeem these points for items like Minecraft Minecoins, charity donations, contest entries for Microsoft prizes, and gift cards.

All you have to do is:

  • Set up a Microsoft Rewards account
  • Use Bing for your internet searches

There are two levels of Microsoft Rewards membership: Tier 1 and Tier 2.

  • Level 1 members can earn 5 points per search per day, up to 50 points per day (10 searches). They also earn 1 point per dollar spent with Microsoft.
  • Level 2 members can earn up to 250 points per day from Bing searches. However, this is limited to 50 searches per day: 30 from the desktop version of Bing and 20 from mobile. They also earn 10 points per dollar spent through Microsoft.

To achieve Tier 2 status, you must earn 500 points each month.

You can earn extra points by voting in polls, playing quizzes, and stuff like that. It’s a bit similar to Swagbucks in that way.

(This Slickdeals post breaks down Microsoft Rewards nicely)

I prefer Google to Bing. But once I hit my max points for a day (or need to dig deeper into a topic), I then move on to Google.

Final approach

For those of us who search the internet frequently every day and want to earn points in the process, Bing and Microsoft Rewards can earn us gift cards (or Minecraft whatchamahoosits), charity donations, or contest entries. Microsoft in the process.

Lots of gift card options come in handy for those of us who love to travel. Food delivery services can serve as an alternative (or substitute) to room service. Starbucks is, well, Starbucks. And Amazon and Target not only offer travel products, but also things we use every day when we’re at home.
