Ulster County Capital Resource Corp. distributes 2,000 gift cards to those in need

KINGSTON – The Ulster County Capital Resource Corporation is partnering with the People’s Place organization to distribute 2,000 $50 gift cards to county residents in need.

Funding for the cards comes from federal government PPE resources during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Capital Resource Corporation chief executive Rose Woodworth said the agency originally thought of handing out the card during the holidays, but realized the need existed far beyond that.

“I think a lot of people do what they can, and they do a wonderful job at Thanksgiving and Christmas,” she said. “After the holidays, in January and February, is when the community can forget that these problems persist and people still need help.”
